"Hopeless" Raccoon Problem in Waterbury, Connecticut

Don't you just hate to wake up, sometimes? That is how I felt when my husband, Darren, announced early one morning that we had raccoons in the attic and there wasn't much we could do about it. "Why?" I said, "Can't we get rid of them?" He said no, we couldn't because they are living under the eaves where two rooflines meet and there is no way to seal it off.

Once I was fully awake I became certain that some kind of raccoon control had to be possible. I read up on various remedies recommended on the internet. People suggested putting bright lights in the space where the animals were living and it would drive them away. Our electric bill was much higher the next month, but nothing else changed.

We went through a whole list of items that people claimed would take care of raccoon removal: moth balls, loud music, predator urine, aluminum foil. The animals were still in the attic. There were now babies, too. The house was starting to smell.
