Skunks in Huntsville, Utah

Raccoon Problems in Huntsville, Utah

Many residents in the small town of Huntsville, Utah, have found their homes occupied by raccoons! It may sound crazy that it is so common, but in an area surrounded with open land like this town is, raccoons are everywhere.  They come to these homes in search of a safe place where they can hide their young and keep them safe from predatory animals.

These are a few of the customers that called in with problems concerning these bandit-looking mammals.

 

My husband and I bought a house back in February and we just discovered something in the chimney.  It’s some sort of animal but we aren’t sure what kind it is.  It kind of squeaks and chirps a little but doesn\'t really sound like a bird because it scratches a lot and it\'s been it\'s about three months. Our chimney is blocked off at the top so we\'re not sure how it\'s getting in or out and we don\'t want to hurt it or anything. We’ve also thought about the possibility of it being a raccoon but whatever it is needs to vacate the premises soon.

We are unaware of how many raccoons are living under our deck but we have one that we know of. we are confused here we don\'t know how many we have living underneath and one of them possibly even two of them look to be sick with something. We\'re just wondering about what you can do to help us with this we don’t want to risk anything with our children in the home.

We have found a raccoon in our very small basement.  We saw him eye to eye tonight and he, or she probably, is in some insulation rolls that we had stored there in the basement for a while. We wanted to find out about having someone come and remove the raccoon along with any babies that it may have from our basement. Also cleaning any feces or urine that is found, since the basement is small the smell carries.
