Bats removal from overhang in Dundalk, MD

Let me tell you about a bat removal job I recently completed. I got a call from a guy in Dundalk, Maryland. He had a colony of around 40 bats living in the overhang of his home. He wanted me to remove them and fix up the hole where they were entering. He wanted me to do the job, but only on his terms. We can do spot treatments, but it really doesn't solve the problem long term.

This can be really frustrating to get the job done right because even if I removed the bats and sealed up the one hole, bats smell areas that have been infested with other bats and will go around the home looking for another place to get it. It is always best if we do a complete inspection of the home to see all possible nooks and crannies where bats could get in so we can seal everything off.

I did perform the bat removal that he requested. I removed the bats from the building with a special venting system. Then I geared up in my hazmat suit and went into the area to clean up the inches of bat guano.

The owner said he was going to try to sell the home soon. I told him that if the bats returned, that it would decrease the value of his property by 5%. I also said that if he sold the home and did not disclose that there had been bat problems in the past, that he could be liable if they did return and would have to pay for the removal in the future.

Sometimes it is just best to do the job right the first time.

We solve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Dundalk and surrounding areas. Give us a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

Many of the projects we solve involve raccoon families in attics and chimneys, mud swallow nests on stucco, woodpeckers drilling siding, voles and gophers destroying lawns, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, bat infestations, skunks stealing pet food and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their noise and commotion and smell. Baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that my professional wildlife removal operators and I are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don't hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, pigeon waste cleanup, bat guano removal, mouse droppings, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.

I have been in the professional wildlife control business for many years. My favorite stories and experiences are removing bats from schools and churches.

Bats in an attic in Dundalk, MARYLAND

I used to hear about people who have problems with living things in their attics, like raccoons or bats etc. and I would say, "I am so glad that it is not me."

Well, I must have said that too many times now, because now it is coming back to haunt me.

That night, we had a bat flying through our house. We were just sitting there watching a Disney movie with the family, when suddenly something started flying around the family room. It was pandemonium! My wife started screaming, popcorn starting flying, people started running. I jumped up, whipped open the back door, and started chasing the bat around to get it outside. The girls started screaming and my eight year old went to get his baseball bat. The only person unaffected was our three year old, who thought we were all crazy and was laughing at the top of his lungs. Luckily, I was able to get the bat out of the house.

Afraid that I now had bats in my attic, in the morning I contacted a bat removal professional named Tim. He came over and did his thing. He started in the family room and checked the walls. Then he checked out the attic and said we definitely had visitors up there. He searched outside and saw a hole in one of the attic windows that was broken where the bats were getting in and out of the attic. He then installed a professional trap with some specialized spray in it that drove the bats out of the house and did allow them to get back in. He removed at least 30 bats from the house.
