Howard County, Maryland Pigeon Control
When people in Howard County, Maryland look for services to control roosting pigeons they know where to turn for help. Allstate Pigeon Control can dispatch technicians with the know-how to control pigeons or any other nuisance animal you might encounter.
Darryl’s problem was typical. He was looking for someone to get rid of the pigeons in his attic. A pair had decided to roost there. He was aware of the dangers, including histoplasmosis and nearly 60 other diseases, of sharing his house with these dirty birds. He had rummaged around in the attic attempting to catch the birds. They just fluttered around and away. After the first clutch of eggs hatched and two birds became six, he knew he had a serious problem and sought professional pigeon control.
Pigeon control is a combination of humane trapping and removal followed by clean up, exclusion and deterrents. Pigeons are determined birds and must be met with equally determined methods.
As these birds are quite social they are able to work together and have warning systems when they spot danger. As a result, trapping requires special techniques for success. We worked around Darryl’s home for some time, setting up a trap system we knew would work.
Once the birds were trapped and taken away, we needed to make sure that other birds would not be attracted to the same location and start the problem all over again. Next to the obvious health considerations, this is the most important reason for clean up after an animal infestation. If birds can tell a space has hosted birds in the past, it looks like an open invitation to move in. When we were finished not only was the mess gone, but so were the smells and stains.
When repairs were complete and physical deterrents put in place Darryl knew that this was a complete pigeon control system. He had confidence that he wouldn’t have to worry about pigeons again next year and the year after that. They wouldn’t get back in his attic and create such a mess in his home in the future. That is how pigeon control, or any animal control job is supposed to go.

Skunk removal from under a mobile home in Howard County, Maryland
Let me tell you about a terrible experience I had this week. I actually had to hire a professional skunk removal technician to come out and take care of skunks living under my house!
Well, those of you who know me know that I live in a small double wide with my two little boys. It isn’t glamorous, but we do our best to take care of it and to have the things that we need (no thanks to my ex-husband of course).
Anyway, the mobile home community we live in is close to the outskirts of town. It is situated next to a large grove of tall trees and the boys enjoy going outside to play until recently.
I have a pair of nasty skunks making what I will delicately call their “newlywed home” under my house. They are certainly enjoying their honeymoon because last night when I was trying to sleep I heard a lot of squeaking, growling, and loud banging down there. I couldn’t get to sleep at all and my very tired 5 year old came into my room rubbing his eyes and asked if there was a fight going on outside.
If you thought the noise was terrible, then you haven’t heard the worst of it. Among all the growling and squeaking, they sprayed several times and it is so disgusting! I can hardly stand to stay in my home, but we really have nowhere else to go.
I finally called in a professional wild animal removal technician who specializes in skunk removal. He came out and installed some kind of fencing, I think he called it skirting, under the ground and around the perimeter of my home. Then he went in and trapped the stinky couple and brought them out to enjoy a new home somewhere else.
