St. Joseph County, Indiana has Wildlife Problems

Just like every other city in the world, the residents of St. Joseph have problems with wildlife.  By finding small holes in eaves, dormers, porches, sheds, chimneys, etc. animals can easily find their way into homes, garages, barns, and sheds.  Sometimes it’s not even inside, but underneath.  It’s not uncommon to have animal problems, either.  Many people experience them every single year.  Trust us, if you don’t, read the stories below.

 

Last week I found bat droppings on the eave of my roof! I tried to seal it up right away but now there are even more and they’re not just on the roof anymore.  I can see them on the driveway and my porch and even on my windowsills. This morning I went outside and saw a bat hanging under the eave! Eeek!! I am very afraid of bats and I’m more afraid of Histoplasmosis which I’ve read online can be in bat guano.  Please help me get rid of these creepy creatures!

 

A mother raccoon is nesting in our chimney and I’m pretty sure that she has babies in there, too. I can hear her crawl out and back in every night and if I get close to the damper and listen carefully I can occasionally pick up on the soft mews of smaller animals.  I don’t want to kill her babies by removing them myself and doing something wrong so I need someone to come out and see what exactly is going on.  I only noticed them in there about two weeks ago so the babies can’t be that old.  Thanks for the help.

 

I have what looks like a total of six opossums under my porch.  From what I can tell, four of them are babies.  I’m not sure if the other two are a male and a female but I assume so.  They only moved down there last week, or at least that’s when I first noticed them.  If this is something you can help me with I’d really appreciate it.
