Bats abound in Pueblo County, Colorado

Even animal lovers want to get rid of bats when they are in the house!

On January 14th my daughter heard squeeking noises in her room. Later that night our animals directed us to the furnace closet where we encountered the first bat. We have bats in our attic, furnace closet and possibly in our garage. We have had 2 live bats found in the house and one dead one. Animal control has come to the house twice to remove the dead one and last night removed a live one. We are waiting for the rabies results. We need help figuring out how the bats are getting into the living area and how we can evict them and keep them from getting back in. My two kids have been given the rabies treatment and have started the vaccines. I have boostered my pets and I am vaccinated. Please help us feel safe it our home again. Sherrie G.

I am looking at purchasing a foreclosed home. Upon touring, I found 2 dead bats, one hanging from the upstairs railing and one behind the toilet in the first floor bathroom. The house sits on a crawl space. The house is approximately 2600 sq ft, 2 stories with attic. I would like a quote/estimate for removing the dead bats and any clean up involved such as removal of feces and use of chemicals to prevent respiratory diseases. Additionally, I would like the attic inspected to see if there are any other dead bats. I'm not sure how they entered the house. Thank you for your time. Kristie B.

I saw a bat in my attic last night, I turned on the light and a few minutes later saw it flying around obviously bothered by the light. I have been in the attic almost nightly over the last few months and have never seen one in there before, nor have I seen any droppings or smelled any strange odor. Is this a lost bat that came in to find food? Will it leave on its own? I am afraid to open the attic door now because I don’t want it in the house. I was so frightened when I saw it I ran out and left on the light. All I can think of is that scene from the Great Outdoors and I don't want it touching me! What do I do? Jennifer L.

Wild animals on your property can damage vegetation and structures and reduce property value. They also bring disease and a host of insect pests with them, which can adversely affect you, your family, and your pets. In your walls, in your attic, or on your roof wild animals can keep you up at night and their urine and droppings create a horrific smell. After my technicians and I perform wild animal removal, we can provide cleanup, sanitization, and deodorization to help restore your property; we can also provide exclusion services to keep your wildlife problem from recurring. Whether the problem is a colony of bats in a building, raccoons in the attic, or destructive behaviors of critters such as squirrels, gophers and pigeons, we can solve it.

We resolve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Pueblo County and surrounding areas. Give me a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

The situations we resolve and main trapping and removal services we provide are: raccoon families in attics and chimneys, woodpeckers drilling siding. mud swallow nests on stucco, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, voles and gophers destroying lawns, skunks stealing pet food, bat infestations, and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their commotion and smell. Raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that I and my professional wildlife removal operators are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don’t hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, bat guano cleanup, pigeon waste removal, mouse dropping cleanup, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.

Snakes sneak around in Pueblo County

Snake problems are common in Pueblo County, Colorado:

I have found six snakes in the past week in our basement and garage. I am terrified of snakes and need the problem resolved. The snakes have all been different looking but range the same size, around 2 1/2 to 3 feet. All of the snakes found have been slender but still scare me to death. Two have been found in the basement and there were three in the garage. We do have a crawl space under our kitchen that has an opening into the garage and an opening into the basement. The basement is an unfinished area. Please let me know what you can do to help! Sandee V.

For the last few years we have had large snakes in our garage and our landscaping. Recently we have seen several small snake skins in our garage and large ones right near the house. We have also found snake skins in our basement. Is there any help you can give us in getting rid of and preventing these from coming back? I feel they are going to take over my house!!! Leslie M.

Recently there was a baby snake on my kitchen floor. My dog was trying to get at it and it was crawling away from it. I'm unsure of its entry into the house. A couple of months ago I saw one in my flower bed but when I returned from work it was no longer there. Would like to make sure there aren't more around the house. Vince S.

Fortunately snake problems do have solutions.
