Skunk problems in Prince Georges County, Maryland

Residents want to get rid of skunks in Prince Georges County.

Every night between 8 and 9 pm, a lone skunk comes onto our porch and peeks into the french doors. He wanders around for a few minutes and takes off again. We don't leave food or garbage out. This has been a regular event for several months. Eva P.

A skunk has been visiting our urban home for the past few weeks. Our yard and the yard next door has many, many holes and the neighbor has seen the skunk at least twice that I know of. There seems to be only one. I am interested in you trapping and removing the animal. Fran F.

For the last month to 6 weeks we have had significant skunk odor in our home. We hired an exterminator Co. that found an area under a porch that was not secure. We secured it and used a one way animal door to get them out and then closed it. The odor was gone for a few days, then came back. I'm worried they are in a crawl space and obviously aren't out. We resolve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Prince Georges County and surrounding areas. Give me a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

The situations we resolve and main trapping and removal services we provide are: raccoon families in attics and chimneys, woodpeckers drilling siding. mud swallow nests on stucco, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, voles and gophers destroying lawns, skunks stealing pet food, bat infestations, and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their commotion and smell. Raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? Possum Problems in Prince Georges County, Maryland

People in Prince Georges County are surprised to encounter so many Opossums

There at least one live opossum in the crawl space under my home. I know of one hole that it enters and exits the crawl space. I see it on the porch from time to time eating cat food. There is a terrible odor coming from the crawl space that is only noticeable from the master bathroom. I am 90% sure this is not a plumbing problem as I have had two plumbers out to find where the smell is coming from and they could not say it was a plumbing issue. I believe there is a dead animal in the crawl space also (reason for the smell). I have found feces in the crawl space that resembles cat feces. Jared R.

My dog discovered an opossum in our entry to our crawlspace which is about 3 ft deep and 2 ft long. There is a door to the crawlspace so the opossum is unable to gain entry to our house. I have a fenced in back yard so I am unsure how it gained access to my back yard to begin with. Anyway, I have four dogs with one being about the size of the opossum. We tried to place a stair stepper platform in hopes that it would crawl out on its own; however, he's still down there. Every time I go near it, it snarls and shows its teeth. I don't want to risk getting bit. Hope B.

I had an opossum in my bathroom closet one morning it was eating the dog treats. I have a whole under my trailer where my tub is and the water pipes go so I couldn't block that but I put boards where it was getting in. A few days later I smelled and found a dead one right at the edge of my underpinig. So I thought I was done with it but the very next morning, right now actually I hear something trying to get in the closet again. Jason G.
