We have bats in the walls. We have not had issues with them in our living area, but my husband and I are here this weekend and we could hear them last night. It Seems That Everyone Smells Skunk in Norfolk County, Virginia

Norfolk County, Virginia has skunk problems.

There was a small opening to the crawl space of the house. The skunk somehow pulled more boards away from the side to make the hole bigger and now she and her 2 babies are living in the crawl space. It stinks. David D.

I think I have a skunk living under my deck. I went out last weekend around 8:45 pm & there was one in my backyard heading toward my deck. I went back inside but it was too dark to see where it went. A week later my neighbor also saw it in his yard & saw it go under my fence into my yard. I also noticed a hole dug on the side of my deck after this incident. Michele S.

I encountered a live skunk 2 weeks ago in my side yard. We both went opposite directions, and no harm was done. Now, over this weekend, I found and extricated a dead (and partially decomposed) skunk from under my deck. It was very difficult to get at, since the deck is too low to get underneath and was not designed to be disassembled. The smell hasn\'t really made it into the house, but the outside is pretty bad, and not getting better since the animal was removed. It\'s conceivable that there is another skunk, but I have not see evidence of one. 2 problems: 1) What do I do with the dead skunk? Put it in the garbage? (It\'s currently tripled-bagged in the side yard.) 2) Is there anything that I can do to help get rid of the smell under and around the deck. Again, it\'s difficult to get access to the area and there isn\'t much ventilation. Plus, there are a lot of leaves, etc under there which I\'m guessing can hold the odor. Ted W.
