Springtime in Wisconsin

It's the start of spring and nature is waking up in Milwaukee County. Squirrels are the first to have their babies and we have been receiving many calls from people with squirrels in their attics. Attics and crawlspaces offer a perfect place for Mrs. Squirrel to raise her litter, usually four babies. Squirrels have two litters every year, with the next one occurring between July and September.

This is also the time of year that we receive many calls for raccoon removal. In Milwaukee County most raccoons live in the sewer system. However, female raccoons are smart enough to know that they can't have their babies in the sewer system. If we had flood conditions, all the baby raccoons would drown. That's why you find Mrs. Raccoon in soffits, attics, crawlspaces, garages, barns, beneath decks, and anywhere else she can keep her litter (usually four) warm and dry.

We also are involved with all sorts of small rodents in spring. Voles are those little mice that leave all kinds of trails underneath the melted snow banks. You will also find the deer mouse, the house mouse, the shrew, wood rats, and Norway rats common in our area. We have programs to control all of these rodents.

Birds can also be a problem with the coming of spring. Pigeons are the biggest problem because they are extremely filthy birds. Starlings, sparrows, blackbirds, and chimney swifts also cause problems.

Bats are another mammal that we will be dealing with. The small brown bat and the large brown bat are the two most common in this area. Bats feed on insects, so they are valuable to the environment. We use exclusion devices (one-way doors) to remove the bats from buildings and then close all the openings so they can't return. We are your bat removal and bat control specialists.

Other animals worth mentioning include skunk, opossum, weasels, fox, woodchuck (groundhog) coyote, beaver, feral cats, chipmunks, turtles, deer, rabbits, and snakes. We have programs for the removal or exclusion of all the nuisance animals.

We also offer a number of related services including deck trenching, closures of all types, gutter cleaning, chimney cap installation, and contaminated insulation removal.

Wild animals on your property can damage vegetation and structures and reduce property value. They also bring disease and a host of insect pests with them, which can adversely affect you, your family, and your pets. In your walls, in your attic, or on your roof wild animals can keep you up at night and their urine and droppings create a horrific smell. After my technicians and I perform wild animal removal, we can provide cleanup, sanitization, and deodorization to help restore your property; we can also provide exclusion services to keep your wildlife problem from recurring. Whether the problem is a colony of bats in a building, raccoons in the attic, or destructive behaviors of critters such as squirrels, gophers and pigeons, we can solve it.

We resolve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Milwaukee County and surrounding areas. Give me a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

The situations we resolve and main trapping and removal services we provide are: raccoon families in attics and chimneys, woodpeckers drilling siding. mud swallow nests on stucco, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, voles and gophers destroying lawns, skunks stealing pet food, bat infestations, and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their commotion and smell. Raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that I and my professional wildlife removal operators are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don’t hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, bat guano cleanup, pigeon waste removal, mouse dropping cleanup, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.

Bat Removal is a constant need in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin

Residents of Milwaukee County want to get rid of bats:

Bats, I just bought the house just before Christmas last year. Due to the season the bats did not show up on any inspection that was done. The house is a story and a half. The house has aluminum siding. The front porch roof slants up to the front of the house. There is a gap in the aluminum siding along the entire front of the house. We counted over 40 bats that came out of this gap this week(we just found the gap this week). This count was done within about 10 minutes. There is a similar gap at the back of the house between the first and second story back portion of the house. Again in about ten minutes we counted about 40 bats. We know there are more in there due to the noises they were making within the walls. For obvious reasons I would never have bought the house if this had been a known issue. Also I live next to two abandoned homes, which are infested as well, which is why I never began to suspect that the bats were actually also in my home. Across the street there is an abandoned garage, which is also infested. I am completely at a loss as to what to do. Due to just purchasing the home as you can imagine funds are limited. Due to the number of bats, I really suspect that the bats have been here for several years. I really think to ensure that the bats are all out etc. It would be best to take the siding off etc. But I can not afford the replacement of the siding of the home etc. I am really beside myself as to what I am able to do. Any suggestions as to what I can do would be appreciated. Luke H.

I have a bat feces problem in a hotel attic and need someone to remove it. It makes a bad smell, and, you can imagine, is very bad for business. David L.

There are bats in my attic, and I do not know what to do. I would like to take care of it. I was wandering if you could help. I also was wondering if you can clean up the mess they left. Lynn H.
