Wildlife in Kootenai County, Idaho

Kootenai County is one of the most diverse counties in America when it comes to wildlife.  It doesn\'t just have raccoons and skunks, they also have bats, squirrels, deer, badgers, beavers, porcupines, and just about everything else (except gators).  Because of the many species of wildlife, there are some pretty unique stories.

For example, there was a job a few weeks back that took a completely different route than we were expecting.  We got a call from a home-owner that had been hearing sounds from under her deck and wanted us to remove whatever was living under there.

We resolve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Kootenai County and surrounding areas. Give me a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

The situations we resolve and main trapping and removal services we provide are: raccoon families in attics and chimneys, woodpeckers drilling siding. mud swallow nests on stucco, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, voles and gophers destroying lawns, skunks stealing pet food, bat infestations, and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their commotion and smell. Raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that I and my professional wildlife removal operators are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don’t hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, bat guano cleanup, pigeon waste removal, mouse dropping cleanup, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. Bats in Kootenai County, Idaho

Bats can be a bigger problem than most people realize.  One of the reasons why is because they don\'t always see the hidden problem.  Often times, when you see a bat, it\'s not just one bat.  You might be okay with one bat living in your attic, but what about the hundred plus that are living with it? Small bat problems can quickly escalate into large, hazardous problems.

At a home in Kootenai County we found what we consider to be the most extreme bat problem that we had ever seen during our time as trappers.    We were called in by a young man that had recently been out to visit his grandmother, but couldn\'t set foot in the house.  From the second he pulled into the driveway, he could smell something horrible; and when she opened the door it only got worse.

Since his grandmother was very old and confined to the first floor, she couldn\'t go upstairs to clean whatever was making the terrible smell and so she could do nothing but let it build up.  He immediately got her out of the house and called us for emergency services.  And what we found was nothing short of an emergency.

A colony of bats that exceeded 1,000 bats had been nesting in her attic for years and over the years, the mess had just built up.  When we went up to the attic to begin treatment, we couldn\'t even open the door.  A pile of guano, 2-3 feet high, had built up on the attic floor, blocking off the entrance and causing a serious health hazard. Not only that, but the guano had also caused serious damage to the floor.  Several spots were rotted through to the rooms below.  This ceiling was caving in; knowing this and seeing the hundreds, even thousands of bats living in the attic, we left the scene.

The home was so contaminated that we had to evacuate the woman and her things and condemn the house. Though this infestation wasn\'t her fault, it was still a very dangerous situation that many people find themselves in.

If you find your home infested with bats, rodents, or any other kind of critters, don\'t let it get out of hand.  Feel free to call the number at the top of this screen and we will do our best to help you get a handle on your situation.  Whatever it is.
