Gaithersburg, Maryland Raccoon Control

Rae contacted us looking for a way to control raccoons that were living in the crawlspace under her home in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She started hearing small, almost chirping sounds somewhat like a bird coming from under the house. She soon discovered that the noise was baby raccoons. Of course, where there are babies, there is a mother, too. (NOTE: I say "mother" only because the father is long gone by the time the babies are born. In fact, the reason females tend to seek the shelter of houses is to hide the babies before a male kills them. File this under "strange but true.")

Anyway, she has these baby raccoons under the house and knows there is a mother. She was out one evening and saw an adult run out from under the house. She examined the hole the animal was using and was quite surprised at how small it was. "The raccoon was as large as a medium size dog, but the hole—I swear a cat wouldn't have fit!" That is part of what makes raccoon control difficult. The animals can fit through holes much smaller than you would expect.

Rae decided to block the hole and placed bricks in front of the opening. The next day the baby sounds had scraping and thumping sounds added. The adult a returned and moved the bricks. This is another reason raccoon control can be difficult. The animals are strong, clever and determined.

Rae did not want to try a do-it-yourself job. She was worried about poisons, traps and shooting. What would she do with a dead raccoon and all the babies? Properly done, raccoon control doesn't leave the homeowner with a mess to clean up, or any mess at all. Whole families are removed at once and together.

Rae asked us for an estimate and, more importantly, a plan. When we explained our entire plan from an on-site inspection to clean-up and repairs she was pleased. "I'm glad there are raccoon control professionals, because this would be beyond me."

We solve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Gaithersburg and surrounding areas. Give us a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

Many of the projects we solve involve raccoon families in attics and chimneys, mud swallow nests on stucco, woodpeckers drilling siding, voles and gophers destroying lawns, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, bat infestations, skunks stealing pet food and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their noise and commotion and smell. Baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that my professional wildlife removal operators and I are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don't hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, pigeon waste cleanup, bat guano removal, mouse droppings, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.

I have been in the professional wildlife control business for many years. My favorite stories and experiences are removing bats from schools and churches.

For pigeon and bird control, bat removal, or relief from other pest animals, call our wildlife management experts. Many nuisance wildlife companies offer critter capture and control; our wildlife operators provide professional pest wild animal management. We remove the following AND MORE:

Skunk Odor in Gaithersburg, Maryland

Skunks are cute little black and white critters that (mostly) go peacefully through the world not afraid of much of anything. They have a sense of bravado that probably comes from knowing that most everything fears anything that smells like that—skunk odor is a great defensive mechanism.

I have a skunk living under my back patio/deck area in the Gaithersburg, Maryland area. At least I assume it is living there. The whole place reeks of skunk odor. Apparently the animal has sprayed down the whole thing. Normally that is my favorite part of the house. I like to open the door for fresh air or sit out there of an evening.

What fresh air? The air I have certainly isn't fresh. I have tried washing down the patio with several different kinds of soap. I even used tomato juice. It was pricey. Now my patio is vaguely pinkish-orange, and still reeking skunk odor.

The whole situation stinks! I just want my patio back. I have seen the skunk in the evening waddling calmly across the yard. I thought about trapping it, or trying to, but what would I do with it once I caught it? Unless I want skunk odor to travel with me for the rest of my life I can't put it in the trunk of my car. I called animal control and they were sympathetic, but not helpful. "We do cats and dogs, not skunks."

So, what is a person to do to get rid of skunk odor? I can't wash it off. The skunk keeps laying it on day after day. I can smell it even with the doors and windows closed. Please, I just want it to go away.
