Rattlesnakes overrun Texas home

My name is Steve. I am a professional snake removal technician based in Austin, Texas. Rattlesnake removal is my specialty. There are certainly enough around here!

I recently received a call from a man over in the area of Amarillo, Texas. He owns a large farm.

He said that the rodents, rabbits, and prairie dogs were plentiful at the gas plant adjacent to his property because they were protected. He also said his farm and outbuildings were the closest buildings of any kind nearby. He said he had driven up to his farmhouse from town one afternoon and saw 14 rattlesnakes sitting out in the sun in his driveway. He also said that over the last few weeks they have seen several sunning themselves on their back patio.

The worst part, he said, is that the rattlesnakes have now made it into their basement. He had heard about the work I did and wanted me to come out and remove the snakes myself.

I made the eight hour trip up to the farm. The customer wasn\'t kidding. He was really remote. I could see how rattlers would thrive in this environment. With food so plentiful from the protected gas production plant nearby, all the snakes had to do was just wait for their next meal to come to them. No wonder they choose to hole up here during the winter.

At first I inspected the house and found that the foundation was weak with a few cracks where the snakes could get into the house. I removed 2 snakes and then sealed up the cracks in the foundation.

Later, I removed an additional 3 snakes holed up under the outbuildings. I installed special snake fencing, or snake netting around the farm\'s outbuildings to prevent them from denning there next winter.

I also performed some habitat modification to change the appeal for the snakes. With the help of the client and his family, we cleaned up and hauled away old tires, cut down sage brush, and removed an old house foundation that they made into a garbage pile where the snakes made their dens.

We solve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Austin and surrounding areas. Give us a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

Many of the projects we solve involve raccoon families in attics and chimneys, mud swallow nests on stucco, woodpeckers drilling siding, voles and gophers destroying lawns, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, bat infestations, skunks stealing pet food and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their noise and commotion and smell. Baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that my professional wildlife removal operators and I are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don't hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, pigeon waste cleanup, bat guano removal, mouse droppings, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.

I have been in the professional wildlife control business for many years. My favorite stories and experiences are removing bats from schools and churches.

For pigeon and bird control, bat removal, or relief from other pest animals, call our wildlife management experts. Many nuisance wildlife companies offer critter capture and control; our wildlife operators provide professional pest wild animal management. We remove the following AND MORE:

Bats In Austin, Texas

True to Austin’s reputation as being the home of the world’s largest urban bat colony, we are seeing a huge amount of bats, especially this season as migratory bats head south and stop off in Austin.  As of September 2014, there have been forty-nine positive rabies exposure cases in the city this year.  Many people and pets have been exposed to these rabid bats and may not even know it.  Bat teeth are small, and people may not even know a child or a pet has been bitten.  The key is to make sure you leave bats and all wild animals alone.  If you see them in your house or on your property, licensed professionals should remove the bats for you.
